APM Terminals Mumbai Sets New Record

APM Terminals Mumbai reached a new milestone and is the busiest container terminal handling facility in India. It has handled more than 2 million teu in 2019, the second year in a row. It remains the only Indian container terminal to date to have achieved this record in a calendar year.

Over the past year the terminal has continued to merit attaention on working in collaboration with customers, including shipping lines, cargo owners, Container Freight Stations (CFS) and transporters, to achieve higher efficiency levels. Initiatives such as the CFS Vehicle Booking System and a new digital Customer Service Portal are said to have boosted customer satisfaction.

Speaking of this new milestone achieved, Mr. Ravi Gaitonde, COO, APM Terminals Mumbai said, “We would like to thank CMA CGM India for believing in the terminals capability to execute this operation as per their requirement. It is our constant endeavor to deliver on our customer expectations.” He further added, “This national record is a fine example of excellent collaborative efforts by the operations team, commercial team and all the support functions at APM Terminals Mumbai. They have efficiently and smoothly handled the gate, yard and vessel operations in close coordination with the operations team at CMA CGM.”
